NASA says, “Creating color images out of the original black-and-white exposures is equal parts art and science.” In meditating on those photos, most often the first connection I make is with color vibrations.
MY HUBBLE SERIES: These images, created as 16″ × 16″ fiber pieces with stitches, beads, sequins, and other embellishments, were inspired by the images taken by the Hubble Telescope. I have tried to depict my sense of our Universe: its harmony, beauty and mystery.
All eight of these images were shared with the European Space Agency for inclusion in exhibitions to celebrate the Hubble Telescope’s “Thirtieth Anniversary” in 2020.
